We sat in our Yangon guesthouse thinking, “What the heck are we still doing here?” After four days in Yangon, the last two with basically no internet, we were questioning our decision on coming to Myanmar. Our first couple days in the city were busy with seeing pagodas and taking the circle train around town, but we weren’t digging the ... Read More »

Merry Christmas! We’re celebrating in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Even though it’s a sunny and beautiful 85 degrees today we were lucky enough to find snow, sort of. The snow is made from bags of SALT! It’s not packable and you can’t build a snowman, but we did see plenty of “salt castles!” Merry Christmas from us to you. We hope you ... Read More »

We enjoyed our time in Ubud tremendously and would highly recommend a visit for anyone considering it. Ubud is a yogi and healthy eaters paradise. We loved finally having the ability to eat healthy and at a low cost! After a couple months on the road and constantly eating food that made us feel slow and sluggish, it was a ... Read More »

We arrived in Les, Bali not knowing what to expect. What we found was a village filled with the kindest and happiest people we have ever met. Les truly stole our hearts and it only took seven days. Here is a little bit of what we found during our week on the Java Sea. The Locals HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY! I’m ... Read More »

We have been in Myanmar for a few days now and have learned a couple things: it has absolutely stunning sites and weak wi-fi. We sort of expected the wi-fi issue, so it hasn’t been too big of a pain though. We would have liked to get a few more posts up, but they will just have to wait. 🙂 ... Read More »

Bali has a number of beautiful waterfalls and water palaces and we were lucky enough to see a few during our time on the island. The ones we saw were easily worth the price of admission, which was generally only a couple dollars. We really enjoyed our time at each place we stopped and we would have spent even more ... 6AM-ish We wake when the pups (Sapi and Betty) think it is time for us to get up, usually around 6am. The sun is up and Bali’s various creatures are chirping and singing away. Sapi and Betty appear to want out of their cage (which is actually a nice BIG air conditioned room we are all sleeping in), but what ... Read More »

Hash House Harrier virgins, that is. Hash House Harriers (HHH) is a world-wide organization that labels itself as ‘A Drinking Group with a Running Problem.’ The idea for each Hash (run/walk) is to have one person from the group assigned to be the hare. The hare sets the course ahead of time and leaves a trail of paper/chalk/spray paint leading ... Read More »

Accommodations Unfortunately our initial experience upon arriving at the guesthouse was not great, as we found bed bugs in our bed (exactly why I do sweeps of ALL hotel rooms!). In my previous jobs, traveling and hotels rooms were constant, so my bed bug detection skills became vitally important. Bed bugs can be nasty and they are not something you ... Read More »

We couldn’t get enough island hopping in El Nido, so we signed up for another round! From the different conversations we had with our guesthouse and others in El Nido, it was overwhelmingly clear we needed to book Tour C after already going on Tour A (check out the recap here). And boy, we are glad we did, because IT WAS ... Read More »
