Our trip to Vienna was off to a sluggish start as our flights were delayed coming out of Turkey. However, once we touched down and found our private transfer waiting for us outside the arrivals area we immediately became relaxed. We worked with Hotel Das Tyrol on setting up the transfer in advance and it couldn’t have been easier.
After fighting through a bit of traffic we finally pulled up to the hotel, which is in a perfect location near the Museumsquartier in Vienna. Upon walking in we were greeted by a friendly receptionist and a plate of fresh croissants in the waiting area. Nice touch!
Hotel Das Tyrol offers wonderful amenities, but our absolute favorite is the wellness oasis found in the basement of the hotel. The spa room is available to all guests in a private setting, which you reserve at reception in advance. You are provided robes, slippers, towels, and refreshments to make the experience relaxing and mind clearing – a perfect way to end a long day of sightseeing.
The wellness spa includes a giant saltwater aquarium, two large loungers, classic Finnish sauna, steam bath, and light therapy shower. We spent time using each of the different amenities in a rotation, with our favorites being the Finnish sauna and therapy shower. The shower has so many different features, there is certainly an option for everyone to enjoy.
The rooms at Hotel Das Tyrol are spacious and welcoming with beautiful artwork lining the walls. Luxury is a focus at the hotel with no detail left unnoticed when it comes to the room. Decorating is stylish and comfortable with warm colors and beautiful linens, plus robes and slippers are laid out for an extra bit of coziness.
Free WIFI is available throughout the hotel and it worked extremely well in the rooms. A fully stocked mini-bar is open for use and a complimentary Nespresso machine was exactly what we needed to get us out of the plush bed in the morning. The size of the room was also a welcomed surprise, compared to most European hotels we have stayed in. High ceilings and plenty of space really make the room feel like home.
You can enjoy a lazy morning before heading out for the day by relaxing inside on a couch in your room. Or, take your cup of Nespresso outside to sit on the balcony and watch the city wake up before starting your day.
Art, Art, and more Art!
It seems every corner, wall, and even staircase in the hotel has a piece artwork to admire. Each piece of modern artwork found in the hotel has been personally selected by the owner, and every piece is an original. These pieces will hopefully add a touch of inspiration to your next stay in Vienna.
We figure you can probably skip the art museums in Vienna and simply wander around each floor of the hotel to get your fix. 🙂
Even the breakfast room is decked out with different pieces of artwork to enjoy while dining in the morning.
As they say, ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’, and Hotel Das Tyrol certainly take this to heart.
We enjoyed a filling and healthy Viennese breakfast that left us completely satisfied and ready for the day ahead. The spread and quality of food are wonderful; breakfast coffees and teas, a full breakfast buffet to choose from, as well as eggs and omelets cooked to order.
The buffet options include an assortment of meats and cheeses, croissants and rolls, Viennese jams, yogurt and muesli, nuts and cereal, and fresh fruit. Oh, and don’t forget your glass of Prosecco!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Das Tyrol in Vienna, Austria. The location near Museumsquartier is a perfect spot for those coming to town as tourists, with sightseeing only steps away. The customer service we received at the hotel was outstanding, as they were attentive to all questions we had regarding the hotel and city. From relaxing in the gorgeous spa to viewing beautiful pieces of artwork, there was not a part of our stay we didn’t enjoy.
Hotel Das Tyrol is the perfect hotel for a traveler looking for calm, relaxation and luxury in the heart of Vienna.
